What's better than a i3 8100 at the same price range for a system?

at least for me same price point is ryzen 5 1400... 8'th gen should be better, but might be hard to buy or might be overpriced for now. If you can get it, go for it, certainly worth much more than anything 7 or 6 gen

For pure gaming the 8100 will give better performance. AMD still cant match the single core performance. So everything that uses 4 cores or less the 8100 wins over the higher priced 1400 and beats the 1200 in everything.
