Use Ddr4 2133mhz and 2400mhz on Asus H170 pro gaming MB?

I recently got two ddr4 2133Mhz 4gb sticks as a gift from a friend , im trying to add them to my computer that has a asus h170 pro gaming Motherboard , i3-7100 processor and 8 GB (2x4gb) DDR4 2400 mHz , but when it doesnt even turn on after i hook them up , any idea why ?

Because mixing up RAM will often lead to compatibility issues, as in sometimes it will work and other times it will not. As it doesn't seem to work for you, your best option for upgrading RAM is to sell what you have and buy a new 2x8 GB kit instead. RAM kits comes from same batch and have been tested to work together.
