Fallout : New Vegas vs The Witcher 3

Ok please help us settle this. Me and a colleague got into a debate the other day over which game is bigger (map and gameplay). I have not played the witcher 3 and he has not played new vegas. So which is it and which is better?

New vegas: Post apocalyptic fps rpg with a low skill ceiling and stiff combat. Fun to play nice world good story and generally a good time.

Witcher 3: a fantasy EPIC with a really good sotry, highly engaging and fun combat rewarding skill over pure buttonmashing (depending on thedifficulty of said encounter). Also looks nice.

The witcher is the bigger of the 2 but can be travveld around quite fast if you are using certain ways of transportation (late game only). They both have really good sidequests and...
