i was thinking of selling my two 4GBs and getting two 8s but i saw a graph and it seems like the prices have doubled since last year. why is that? is it gonna go back down?

well i have an asus z87-k. it doesn't support ddr4. is ddr3 too outdated or do i stick with it? do i really need to get a new motherboard?
