In the near future I am going to have to update multiple Windows 7 machines, and would like to do so in the shortest amount of time possible. I was wondering if there was any known program or way I can install updates on a flash drive, and then load them onto the image, so that the process goes by faster.

Same goes with SP1.

Thank you in advance, and if you need clarification on something, let me know.

You can slipstream SP1 into any earlier iso. The problem is SP1 is from 2011 so is missing 6 years' worth of updates.

If you trust this Russian guy, he has made it very convenient to slipstream all of the updates right up to last month's Patch Tuesday into an iso, so a full up-to-date clean install takes less than an hour.

If you are updating existing machines, there are tools to replace WindowsUpdate with an offline repository. They include AutoPatcher, c't/WSUS Offline Update, Portable Update, Windows Updates Downloader, and Windows Update MiniTool.
