Help with custom-built PC for GAMING & ART PROGRAMS

Solution
MB + CPU - You have a mismatch between your non-overclocking CPU (non-k series) and the Z-series chipset motherboard. For your first build I would recommend not overclocking. It is not necessary to game at high settings or get good CPU performance. Changed the MB to a B250 chipset board (H270 would be fine as well).
CPU COOLER - Not needed when not overclocking. The stock Intel cooler will be just fine.
MEM - Same specs on the G.Skill modules below for less cost.
SSD - With the saved budget... changed to the 500GB model
GPU - The EVGA is fine, however the ASUS below has a similar factory overclock and is a bit less expensive.
PSU - 750w is way too big for a system like that (non-overclocking / single GPU). Look toward a good 550w...

MONITOR - Changed from a 24" 1k display to a 24" 2k display. The GTX 1060 6GB will keep up at 2k resolution in most gaming instances, but you may have to dial down the detail at times.. Either way it is not much more cost for the higher resolution.

...or a AMD Ryzen option. The AMD is slightly better for workstation duties, and the Intel slightly better for gaming. Both would serve you well.
