HDD space recovery

So, I have two hdd's that I used quota on them, one of them I used like 2.5GB or so (can't remember exactly) and the other one like 150GB.

After some time, I upgraded my mobo and cpu, new OS and I saw that the quota on those HDD's is still used but I can't recover it.

I selected all the files and I got 270GB but the used space is more. How can I recover the unused space? Thanks!

Agree with rgd`1101..both use of windirstat and the possibility of system and hidden files being hidden from view. Also I notice in the screen shot you have a D drive "system reserved" partition. Usually that "system reserved" partition is on the C drive and would not have a drive letter assigned, someone had to consciously put it there, either during the install or after. Your system is working so I wouldn't change it, just be aware of that. Bottom line is you won't be recovering much free space as it probably holds data.
