Hello Guys!

I would like to ask for your advice. I have almost 5 years with my FX 8320 oc at 4.4 GHz. I have a corsair hydro GT 80i but now I feel my CPU is getting old and not powerful enough for the most recent titles. My current PC is:

FX 8320 4.4 GHz
16 GB Ram
GTX 1070

Its pure for gaming so I don't know which could be the best option for me. I am thinking about get a Ryzen 5 1600 (using the stock cooler) however I am not sure if I will get a good and nice performance increase. I am playing Assassin's Creed Origins and Total War Warhammer series for now and I am not sure if this CPU worth it. I though on Intel, however intel is very expensive however if iCore are the best option I can consider it.

Please let me know your comments and suggestions. Also I will appreciate suggestions for MoBo and Ram :)

Good little board. But if you are a serious OC'er, you'll want something a little more substantial. That board lacks a heat sync on the memory VRMs, for one thing. Mine's the same way. The Asrock board that Finstar mentioned is a good choice.

If cost is an issue, the Ryzen 6C/12T processors are ideal. The AM4 platform should give you plenty of headroom.
If you're not sure of the performance increase, run Time Spy and compare your score with the FX-8320/1070. My Ryzen 5 1600X/1070 (both at stock) garnered a 6073 score for comparison.

The Ryzen 5 1600 is a very good cpu and a huge upgrade from your old FX. As for Intels 8gen cpus, they are slightly more powerful for gaming. But as you mentioned, they're expensive, there's no stock and they have issues with thermals.
The 1600 with the stock cooler is your best option.
