Windows 7 doesn't boot "No OS files found on disk"

My computer goes straight to the "Startup Repair" screen, and it gives me "partition repair" and "root cause: no OS files on disk x409" messages. I managed to access my hard drive through System Repair on the boot-able Windows 7 Installation, and I can copy and paste files on and off my (D: ) drive. The weirdest part is that it states, "Operating System: Windows 7, (D: ) Acer".
Is there a way any of you know of to see which files are missing or corrupt?

Solution
It is probably a failing drive not a corrupt file. Can you start the system in Safe Mode? Your dive is showing up as D probably because the system disk you are booting from is taking C:

I'd just replace the drive and install Windows on that.
