Budget Future Proof CPU

So I want to get a future proof but relatively cheap processor I currently have a GTX 1060 6gb and want something that would last like 2-4 years I was thinking a i5 7600k, help would be appreciated

If you could hold out for i3-8100, i3-8350K, or i5-8400 that would be equal/better for less/equal money. But yes i5-7600K should last you at least a couple years of relevant gaming potential.

I would rather have a Ryzen 5 1600 instead of an i5-7600K though.

The Ryzen cpu line up is very good for future proofing since they claim that the AMD4 socket will last to 2020. If you're going to buy Ryzen, note that every singe cpu is overclockable. The X cpu's just has a higher ghz and doesn't come with a stock cooler, and it's good for streaming as well.
