Is a soundcard really all that important?

Seems like when playing CSGO I don't really hear enemies as well as my friends do, I have had multiple headsets (siberia v2, kraken, rog orion) and a few other good headsets. I have good hearing so all I can think of is the soundcard, will buying one actually make a difference?

Solution
Yes and no, depends on your hearing, maybe you hear very good some frequencies and some not, best way to test it invite your friends and let them play and ask them if they hear well the enemies.
Soundcards can help for a number of reasons, ranging from better overall audio quality to significant amounts of post-processing to make those specific types of sounds easier to hear.

That being said, some people simply have better natural healing.

I use a Soundblaster Z card. There is an option for Scout Mode. This is what it says on the Tab for it: "This proprietary technology allows you to hear your enemies from further away, giving you a distinct tactical advantage in combat." I originally bought my card because motherboard sound sometimes gave a hiss when listening loud. It doesn't do that at all with the card.
