Occasionally some games on my Win 7 pc suddenly reduce screen to minimum pausing the game or it disappears instantly and shuts down completely with no warning. This only happens with a couple of games and I have not had any problems with anything else.
I did some research on Google and it seems this can be a common occurrence, a conflict with Windows Aero. I have managed to run the games by starting a game, stopping explorer from running and then they seem to play just fine. I know how to get explorer working again when I've finished playing, this is not the issue.
Another forum suggested I run 'sfc /scannow' from the command prompt as this can fix this particular issue and has done so on many other pcs running Win 7. I have just run this scan and it said there were some corrupt files and it has replaced some but not all of them. I have searched for the logs to try to find out what the problems are but cannot find the logs it suggested, 'windir\logs\cbs\cbs.log'. I've searched this and all individual parts of this but found nothing.
Can someone please try to help me find these logs or suggest a way I might fix the corrupted files when I find out what they are? I still have the original Win 7 installation disk plus all software is up to date including drivers.
I hope I've described this problem correctly, it sounded much better in my head!
