Sound doesnt work after instaling new Gpu

so i had a 780 ti in my system but it was on the verge of dying and i knew it so i had a 570 ready to be aplace holder. died the gpu did and i put the new gpu (that had already been in the system) after it the soudn doesnt work. yes i have seen the other threads and all metion the hdmi audio of which i dont have that part of the drivers instaled and im not even using hdmi im using dvi to vga.

Where are you expecting sound from? Headphone jack etc? Make sure, under Audio>Playback Devices that it's not defaulting the the HDMI output that you're not using.

Also, did you clean install your GPU drivers (fully removing the drivers installed with the 770)? If not, I'd suggest doing so.
Even Nvidia to Nvidia cards, leftover drivers can cause all sorts of problems. Never heard of this specific scenario happening, but it's not too farfetched.

You can use DDU (in safe mode) to run a full display driver removal, then install the latest from Nvidia's website for the 570.

im expecting the audio to come out of my headset and the pc does recognize it and it is working on my tablet, i do hear a faint craclking like noise after windows boots up.
i also unistaled all drivers
