I gave up and sent my Hero X back, I hope you get your chip soon. And I hope it clocks like a mofo!

It is the best gaming CPU you can get right now, and a decent workstation CPU for productivity. If your focus is primarily gaming, you're set for quite some time, but if you're more focused on using your computer for actual work, there are other options worth mentioning.

It will be great when you get it in a couple of months ;)

personally, that's fine with me if it takes that long then I can put the other parts back to buy some games but the tracking does say it has already shipped so hoping that's true

Interesting, I too have the i7 8700k processor flight simulation is my hobby and since i am retired now its all i really do spearing little when it comes to expense. I can tell you i have had this CPU installed now for 3 days and although i see lower frame rates it appears to be a lot smoother than my i7 7700k 4.2 GH processor which is no bomb, but comparatively speaking i think i am going to stick whit the i7 8700k because of the smoothness . I think its the cores that makes the 8700k just a smoother experience. I also think you made a wise choice in the i7 8700k.
