Optane 900p compatibility

Recently saw an article posted about the Optane 900p. It looks like a very impressive device. However, I had a question about compatibility. A number of motherboards are designated as Optane compatible. I think this just means that they can use Optane as cache storage. Can the 900p be used in any NVMe compatible motherboard, or does it need a motherboard specifically marked as Optane compatible?

Solution
NOT according with MSI ... but I think they are cofused .... Optane SSD / Optane MEMORY

Dear Sorin,
Apologies for the inconvenience.
We have checked with the technicians and we've got information, this SSD is not supported on AMD Mainboard and AMD CPU.

Solution
Yea they are confusing it with them Memory which is an intel CPU only thing.

That is all i can really find for proof, but this is NOT memory it is a SSD that uses the NVMe Protocol which your motherboard DOES Support So I don't see why it won't work. If you want to wait you can do that. Also it can be installed in any PCIe port it will just either use whatever lanes it has (like a 1 or 2 x) or only use the 4 (if a 8 or 16 x)

Hes talking bout the 900P not the optane memory cashe which is what only supported on 200 series if i read right.

Using the Optane 900p SSD should be find so long as his broad supports PCIe NVMe booting
