I've looked into this, but are there any actual benefits? Water cooling does just as well, awithout the hassle of submerging your PC. Also, what are the risks? I'm not against it, but I'm curious. Anything would help :)

Risks?
Not being able to move the PC
Not being able to upgrade the PC
Oil seeping through the cable (mouse cable?) via capillary action, and peeing oil all over your desk
Smaller wallet

Pros?
You get to geek out to your friends


It's not a magical cooling configuration. The PC components still generate the same heat. The oil absorbs that heat. At some point, you have to remove the heat from the oil, otherwise you just have a very hot tank of oil.

Of just about all the (actually built and successful) ones I've seen online, the builder says "Yeah, it was fun as a project, but never again"
