Hello everyone. I am hoping to soon update my processor for my my computer from AMD to Intel. I have only build my computer and I am not that good at determining compatibility, so I need your help.

Here is the following list of my computer parts NOW:
- Cooler Master N200 Micro-ATX Case
- AMD FX-6300 AM3+ CPU
- Corsair Vengeance D3 2x4GB RAM
- Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 AM3+ Micro ATX Motherboard
- Seagate 1TB Barracuda Hard-drive
- Thermaltake TR2 500W PSU
- Asus Radeon R7 370 STRIX 2GB GPU
- Microsoft Windows 10 Home OS

Here is the following list of new computer parts I am looking at for LATER:
- Intel Core i5-7400 3.0 GHz Quad Core CPU (To replace my current CPU)
- ASRock - B250M Pro4 MicroATX LGA1151 Motherboard (To replace my current motherboard)

Would the components that I'm looking for for later to replace my current ones be compatible with the other current ones I have now? So If I put in the motherboard and Intel processor I'm looking at now would my PC function how it did before (With increased performance of course!). Thanks! If I am missing any information let me know.

Whether you went with your i5 or vapour's r3, you would have to look at DDR4 memory, as your DDR3 is not compatible.

Being that the Ryzen platform will have an upgrade path 3-4 years from now, but the B250 will not (Kaby Lake is it for this chipset), the better purchase is the AM4 platform....in my opinion. To be able to start with a 4core/4thread processor and upgrade to a 8c/16t a couple of years from now (and knowing for sure that's going to be an option) is an exceptionally good value.

Yes, I would also pitch in to say that you should consider an AM4 platform for an upgrade. Going from fx 6300 to even the lowest Ryzen 3 1200 will be a huge upgrade. But, the best value in Ryzen comes from Ryzen 5 1600 (6C/12T). They all can be overclocked upto 80% of their potential on the excellent stock cooler!

Kaby Lake is dead. If you do insist on building Intel, go for Coffee lake, Intel 8th gen core CPUs. They have i3 8100, i3 8350k, i5 8400, 8500, 8600k, i7 8700k etc. Also, i3 now has 4C/4T, i5 now has 6C/6T, and i7 now has 6C/12T. Limitation is that at this time their availability is a question and also there is only one chipset released which is z370 which is too expensive for an i3 build, expensive for an i5 build, and ok for an i7 build.
