Hi,

My current system specs are as follows:
FX 6300 at stock
Gigabyte 78-LMT-USB 3 motherboard
Deepcool Gammaxx 300 CPU cooler
Corsair 12 GB Ram (4GB x 2 Value Select and 4GB x 1 XMS all at 1333 MHz)
Zotac 1060 6GB Amp GPU
Corsair CX500 PSU

I want to change my motherboard and CPU. I do not have sufficient funds to go for a DDR4 setup right now. Therefore, I am looking to buy used parts. I have the following options right now:

Intel i5 4590 + MSI B85M-G43 Board @ 178 USD (Carries about 1 year warranty)
Intel i5 2500K + Intel P67BG Board @ 132 USD (No warranty)

I live in India and the prices have been converted to USD.

Which combo should I go for? I use my PC mainly for gaming. Thank you.

For gaming, non of those CPUs will really shine anymore but obviously the 4590 would be the better choice when it come to performance. Just take note that as you are mixing up RAM, there is no guaranties that it will work with a new motherboard and you could be stuck with the 2x4 GB kit. Also note that your current RAM configuration are not running in dual channel mode.
If you really want a good system with the old platform, you should look for I7-4790K CPU.

I also plan to sell all 3 of 4GB kits as the seller selling the 4590 is also selling a corsair vengeance 1600 MHz 2 x 8GB kit for an extra 77 USD. I tried looking for a used 4790K but could not find any.
