My computer is getting slow and I'm not sure what's gating it

I built a gaming PC in 2013 and it's been progressively getting slower, as computers tend to do over time. I've used it a lot for online gaming and audio engineering. Here's what's in it:

CPU: Intel i5-4570
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 750ti 4G
PSU: Thermaltake TR2 600W
16Gb of RAM, unsure what brand(s)
Unsure what sound card, I mostly use a Lexicon Alpha Audio Interface
Unsure what hard drive

I regularly clean up programs, defrag my drives, and do other maintenance as well as clean the dust out of my case. I know my CPU and power supply are both slowly getting outdated, but they're both in good shape. I've been looking into upgrading, specifically getting a SSD, Intel i7, or maybe a stronger power supply.

Can anyone tell what's gating my PC's speed the most? Am I in need of an upgrade/upgrades?

Thanks,

In regards to OS cleanup/speed-up: start with using a junk file cleaner like CCleaner. That can really help. You say your already defragging your hard drive, so you should be OK there. Also make sure your drivers are all updated.

Next, check which programs are running at start-up and draining resources. Go to the Task Manager, click the Start-up tab, and see what is listed here. Disable unneeded programs at start-up. But do be careful to make sure you don't accidentally disable an important program. This step can also really help speed things up.

Regarding hardware upgrades: Upgrade your hard drive to an SSD and upgrade your video card. You'll see big improvements in gaming and data access speed (anything on the SSD).

Everything else is good IMO. No need for a new PSU. You could upgrade your CPU as well, but that's really dependent on your motherboard and budget.
