Yax :
i had a problem with my XFX R7 260X Core Edition 2GB - R7-260X-CNF4 which was related to driver i think but i kept getting many bluescreens and freezes so i decided that the best solution would be flashing my card (i had no idea that it could brick my gpu at the time) so after choosing what i thought was the best vbios for my card i flashed it and it was successful, then it asked me to restart my pc. since then im only getting a blackscreen
please help. Btw the bios i flashed successfully into my graphics card is correct and here's the link https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/161701/xfx-r7260x-2... im wondering why im getting a blackscreen
the following is not meant to be insulting, but rather a warning that blindly doing something can cause further problems
well first of all, deciding the firmware on your card needed to be changed was not a good idea
consider the fact that if there was a problem with the firmware the xfx web site would have a mention of this and searching online would have shown there were/were not people having a problem like yours.
second, did you make a backup of the existing bios before flashing? if not then that's another mistake
i strongly suspect you flashed the wrong bios onto your card.
you have to understand that a given card model can have several variants that differ (usually it's memory used on the card)
check the link you provided,
https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/161701/xfx-r7260x-2048-140216
then the link below, note the section listing memory support for chips used with that bios is different than your link
https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/149860/xfx-r7260x-2048-131029
i suspect you will need to remove the card's heatsink determine the memory chips used
or provide more detailed info on your card by listing any sticker info it may have and see if it can be determined that way
it might be possible to use a computer with PCI /PCI-e video slots and reflash using the PCI card as primary video
or set up a blind flash disk (one that auto boots from a usb key the flashing process) and run it on your computer
as to your original problem, it most likely was a corrupted OS (IE- software related) problem not a hardware related problem
