Short Version: I am running a dual boot of W10 and CentOS 7. They each have their own separate ssds and Grub allows me to easily dual-boot to each of them easily. I have already freed up 256GB of ssd space on the W10 drive as its own partition. Can I safely install Windows 7 on that partition without breaking the bootmanager/grub and would there need to be any extra steps needed after installing it such as updating GRUB?
Thanks.
Long Version: Some of my software plugins for Maya are incompatible with Linux and my 3DConnexion Space Mouse Pro is hobbled by bad drivers and will not even work with Maya. Windows 10 is too hard/inefficient on resources such as VRAM which is one of my most important resources when it comes to texture painting and GPU rendering while just being slower overall in CPU related tasks. For this reason I want to install Windows 7 to get back the functionality of my most important 3D modeling tool and plugins while not losing out of VRAM for extremely dense 3D scenes or textures. I will keep Centos as some programs (such as Blender and Houdini) run worlds faster and more efficient while leaving Windows 10 alone in case something breaks thus I will still have an O.S. I can fall back on.
Thanks.
