Hi everybody i am new here. The reason i joined the forums of Toms's hardware is because i want to share a problem with you. i ll tell you my story: i bought a pc before 5 years with good hardware (intel i7, amd 7770 hd, 8gb ram) to play games. Before 1 week i decided to format my pc for the frist time and install the windows 10. i heard a lot for those windows and i already started the downloading from piratebay :D in the hope that every junk file will go away and the pc will run faster. So.. the pc is worse now on games. disk on task manager goes 100% when i play games. 2 days after i bought a gigabyte gtx 1060 3gb. i installed drivers everything cool but it's not what I expected. i am like wtf ? 250 euros in trash? not change at all. same performance. Finally i want to ask you.... Is that normal ?

Wait, let me get this straight. You bought a 5yo PC with lower end/junk hardware. i7, but it could be the old i7 920 which doesn't have PCIe 3.0 or SATA III support. 7770? That's older than 5 years I think and won't run AAA games at 1080 now. PSU? You then put a pirate OS on it which could have who knows what embedded in it and a larger GPU which might tax this mystery PSU worse. You then wonder why things aren't working well? 250 is a tiny sum to pay for a real gaming system. There is a reason why people buy PS4, Xbox, etc.

In general you need to spend ~$500-750 at least to get a good gaming system. Buying older hardware can work if you know what you are doing, but not all older hardware can work. Without knowing many details of your system I'm guessing it's full of virus and lower end hardware which is going to provide a less than desirable gaming experience.

My rig:
geforce gtx 1060
intel core i7 4770 3.40 ghz
8 gb ram

its not the perfect! its just good. But how you explain that the pc worked better before the format with the amd radeon 7770 hd series

TURBO-X 550W DR8550BTX

Here are my recommendations.

Get a new higher quality PSU than what you have now.

Do a clean install of Windows 8.1, deleting the partitions on the hard drive, then install Windows 8.1.

Run Windows update and get all the updates.

Haha ok i trust you! so i have some benchmark results to examine and tell me your opinion if something should change immediately. Have a look : http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/5665421#DRIVE

I think you will be fine after a fresh Windows 8.1 Install (Legit Windows)

And replacing the PSU.

You could also get an SSD (250GB), that would help your HD performance.

Use the regular HD for storage and games.
