Hello,

My brother owns this Evga 1080Ti SC2 edition graphics card, it was fine the first month he got it but last week games started crashing... voltage was hitting it's limit when the crash happened. I tested it on my PC and got the same crashes and visual glitches. One thing he did was updating the card while a game was running. I tried increasing the voltage using MsiAfterBurner it delayed the crashes but still crashes at some point. Lowering the power target by 10% seems to work but that wasn't happening before. both my PSU and his are 750watts from different manufactures. Is there a way to fix this problem?

Specs:
CPU: i7 - 4790k
Motherboard: Msi z97 gaming 5
GPU: Evga 1080Ti SC2 edition
Ram: Crosair 8gb x2
PSU: Corsair CX Series CX750M
Windows: 10

Solution
If the GPU is at stock, with no custom settings, it will certainly hit "max" levels when pushed by demanding uses. That is what the limits are for.

The under-power setting is just lowering the limit to lower the power consumed/heat generated when under load. How hot is the GPU getting when putting under a full load (like when gaming or running a GPU benchmark app)?

No, I did not OC it. Voltage hitting it's limit on the stock settings

EVGA 750 BQ, 80+ BRONZE

I've already tried his card in my PC, same glitches/crashes
Also if I put the power limit back to stock/increase it the game crashes faster

It's already on stock settings, decreasing the power limit to 90 instead of 100 seems to work

What about your card in his PC>

I am leaning towards the PSU that is the problem.

The CX750 is hit or miss.
