I would say as a generalization to always go with a liquid cooler over an air cooler as while there is still the same heat transfer it doesn't sit directly on your processor. Also Corsair is a great brand with a great warranty service in the event that something goes wrong.

It is also important to know what processor you have and how hot it gets, as sometimes a 120mm liquid cooler (If you have an I7 of pretty much any kind) simply isn't enough and you need to go for a 240mm.

Problems can come from a liquid cooler that would not be present with an air cooler; such as pump failure and leaking, both of which could ruin your hardware.

But Corsair will compensate the damage part if liquid manage to get onto the component.
