Buying a new laptop-need advice-I am inexperienced

I am thinking of buying a new laptop under 30,000-35,000 PKR. ($300-350). Something around $400 might also work. I am not much into gaming or stuff. Usually, I play stronghold extreme or civilization V once every 2-3 months. I currently have an HP laptop, but it overheats as hell. Due to the overheating issue, I have to give it a minute’s rest after around 15-45 minutes of use.
As I am a freelance writer, I intend to use the laptop for writing, watching movies and some gaming at normal graphics (nothing hardcore).
I was looking for the following features in a laptop:
1. No overheating whatsoever.
2. Good battery life.
3. SSD preferred but not necessary.
4. A good design (hey, I plan to use it as my office).
5. And finally, Intel i3 or something of similar power (optional).
I was hoping that maybe you guys could help me out, since my laptop has started acting weird. I am currently on another machine, not much powerful. HP has a sale thing going own, maybe I can get some discount there as well.
I look forward to your recommendations.

Try getting a can or compressed air. Shutting your current laptop down. Remove the battery. Then use the can of compressed air to blow in all the openings. If this doesn't resolve it, a simple cleaning at a local service center should be enough.

I'm going to bet that local prices in Pakistan are not the same as here in the USA. So any buying advice I gave you might not apply as the hardware and the pricing structure won't match. In the USA the only laptop I could buy which meets your criteria is this one:
https://www.amazon.com/Acer-E5-575-33BM-15-6-Inch-Notebook-Generation/dp/B01K1IO3QW/
It is a great buy, but it is not a solidly built computer.
