Hello, my i7-7700k cpu just arrived. I own a msi z170a sli and I'm having a hard time getting it to boot. I've tried updating the bios through flash, but it didn't seem to work. I downloaded the version 7998v3B at https://us.msi.com/Motherboard/support/Z170A-SLI. Im thinking I used the wrong version because version 3.9 states that it supports next generation cpu. I haven't tried that version since I got frustrated and didn't want to mess up my computer. Also, since I didn't say before, Im using an i5 6500 and this chip boots up fine.

Solution
use precautions BIOS flash or update can brick your motherboard(sry dont wanna scare you)after you positive that it have to be update find trust worty site step by step how to accomplish that.in many cases people confuse.its not a video card you dont need to update. try without a memory if you have speaker connected to motherboard how many beeps you have.
