Problem trying to overclock

I have been building my first pc and decided to try overclock my cpu, but anything over 3.2mhz is only giving 1 fps when I run firestike?
my heatsink has also started revving loud since attempting the overclock, could I have damaged it? should I upgrade the cpu or if anyone else has any other suggestions on anything else I should upgrade would also be appreciated. Thanks

i wouldn't recommend OC with an AIR cooler if that's what you are doing.

if you are wanting to OC id recommend getting an AIO to start out with

if your wanting better FPS OC your GPU you will get more FPS than your CPU
i would also stress a new CPU and MOBO aswell
