Hello guys

I recently updated my alienware's gpu from the NVIDIA GTX 745 to NVIDIA GTX 1050...

The tempeture was 45-50 C on idle and after 10 min of gaming it went 90-95 C.
I've tried everything ... I fixed the fan curve,I underclocked the card,i changed the max temp, I set fan speed at 100% all the time,I enabled vsync to cap the fps at 60, I cleaned the main fan from dust, I removed the blue-ray drive so it has better airflow and even boot my pc with the side-panel open... Nothing worked... The best tempeture i got was 38 C on idle and when I oppened the game the temp went again at 90C...
Now I returned to my GTX 745 until i find a solution

My specs are:

CPU :Intel® Core™ i5-4460 (Quad Core, 6MB Cache, up to 3.4 GHz w/ Turbo Boost)
RAM : 8Gb (2x4 Gb DIMMS)
HD : 1x 3.5" SATA I/II/III Hard Drive
GPU : NVIDIA GTX 745 - (MSI GTX 1050 AERO 2GB)
PSU : Alienware™ 240 Watt Power Supply (Standard)
Motherboard : Mini-ITX Motherboard

Is there anything I can do?

thank you!

Sounds to me like the cooler on the card isn't making proper contact with the top of the GPU, meaning the heat doesn't have anywhere to go. So just to be clear, there is nothing restricting airflow into the fan/s and you had the side panel off and still got to over 90C? You should RMA the card and get a new one, there is clearly something wrong with it.
