is it possible to recover any file(picture, video etc) on a android phone? if yes, how I can prevent it? I know we can securely delete files on a computer by overwrite them but what about phones? My phone is old, its a android galaxy s3 mini and I'm using this since years, want to make sure some of my already deleted files unrecoverable by third party software (example: apps on store) its 4.2.2 OS, is there any safe programs to overwrite them? like recuva on PC, that software is very useful, allows me to securely overwrite already deleted files without doing additional work.
or everything else fails, doing a format can do the trick?

(sorry if this is the wrong section of the forum, first time creating a phone/mobile thread)

Not sure about Android, assuming it's the same as IOS which has been encrypted for a few years.
If the FBI can't hack an iPhone by themselves, I wouldn't worry about the kid/grandparent buying an s3.
