Hi,

my PSU fan is not spinning even at load, my PC should take around 510-550W under load.

The reason why i am asking is because when my GPU is under load it makes weird noise, i got it replaced and yet the sound is still their and the game lags. i have 2 independent 8 pin and 6 pin connector from PSU to GPU (PSU is multi rail).

my specs are:
Intel - Core i7-6850K 3.6GHz 6-Core Processor (OC to 4.1GHz)

Asus - ROG STRIX X99 GAMING ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard

G.Skill - Trident Z RGB 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory

NZXT - Kraken X62 Rev 2 98.2 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler

Muskin - 1TB 2.5" Solid State Drive

WD - 4TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

EVGA - GeForce GTX 1080 TI Hybrid Gaming Video Card

CORSAIR - HX1000 Series CP-9020139-NA 1000W ATX12V v2.4 / EPS12V 2.92 80 PLUS PLATINUM

Solution
Hx1000i remains in fan less mode until 40% load & internal temps hit more than 50c.

Not one or the other but both those conditions have to be met together to do that.

& yes maybe you could force your system to pull 500w+ total power draw by artificially pushing both CPU & GPU to 100%.

Ie - running furmark for GPU & prime/aida64 simultaneously.

Under normal conditions though (gaming etc) I doubt its actually touching 400w.

Press the fan test button on the back , if it starts up its absolutely fine.
