PSU Upgrade Help

Hello, I'm planning on upgrading my PSU in my computer to a

Currently my motherboard (Dell 0KWVT8) requires a 12V 4-pin power connector from the PSU. The PSU I want to get comes with a 12V 8(4+4). I Understand that the 8-pin is split into two 4-pins, and that I only need one. But my question is, since I'm only using one of the 4-pins will it cut the Voltage in half to 6V? Or will it still give me the 12V I need to power my Motherboard. Thanks

Your choice is not very good.

The main motherboard connectors are 20pin/ 24pin. I assume you mean the ATX12V/EPS12V connector for the CPU.

Yes, your 4+4 pin connector will work. Voltage will remain at 12V, though current capability will be reduced. You will be fine with that connector.

Though that PSU is mediocre quality and performance, try find a better one.

OP, that M12ii has a 4 + 4PIN cable for the CPU, as seen https://seasonic.com/product/m12ii-620-evo/

I suggest the CX550M: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/3hkwrH/corsair-power-supply-cp9020102na

Better PSU than both the 600b and m12ii. Close to your original price.

The cx550m is currently $49.99 on amazon - that's a very good PSU at that price & far far better than the evga b1.

The seasonic listed is also a great PSU but relies on mail in rebate to get that price.
