Hi All,

I just made a minor upgrade to my build. I switched out the NZXT Source case for the Rosewill Cullinan (Red). Everything else is the same. However, now when I power on nothing comes up on my monitor. I get the VGA No signal and then monitor goes to sleep. I have tried the HDMI too.

Everything was up to date before I powered down last. No parts are different other than the case. The fans run fine. No red LED's. Solid green on MOBO - which is normal.

Please help! :)

Well try booting using your integrated GPU, does AMD have one? I haven't used an AMD for 10 years. Or ask a friend to come over with his GPU.

What do you know, resetting the bios works with "no video" issues also. Honestly if you are 100% sure everything is connected correctly you should try. I almost forgot something, do you actually get into Windows? Or is it just black and nothing else. Cause that might also be a RAM issue. Pull the RAM out and blow on them and on the slots. Then put them back or switch them. And make sure if you have dual channel to set them in the same place as...

I am almost certain. My PCI-E cable has two options - when I do the one it the VGA _LED light turns solid red. When I use the other I get no red LED but it still gives me no signal on my monitor.

I just reset the GPU in both viable spots on the MOBO. Same thing happened. HMDI No signal and VGA No signal. No red LED's - CPU fan and case fan is running just fine.

You actually have 4 viable spots. But that's not the question, did you insert it properly all the way into the motherboard so that it doesn't even move? The metal pins should even come out the other side of the case (if you take off the lid and check). After it's placed properly and you screw it in, plug your PCI-E connector from your PSU. After that power the PC and see if the fans spin.

I did as you noted. I reset it and pushed it in as hard as I could, without breaking anything, plugged in my PCI-E and powered on. Both GPU and CPU fans were running. I tried VGA and HDMI and no signal on both again. No red LED's or beeps. :(

Check if your monitor is set on HDMI or VGA or DP. Tho since it worked previously it should be set on the same display port as you previously used ...
It's honestly really weird it's not working after just changing the case, that's why you need to make sure everything is set the same as before cable and connectors, and hopefully you stopped power from going into your PSU before you dismounted anything or it could've been damaged.

Maybe reset the motherboard battery while you're at it. Someone fixed his issues by doing that some months ago, not sure it was 100% the same issue. If your PSU is modular or something, make sure you plugged in the PCI-E cable correctly

It is really weird...that's why i am so confused haha. If I reset the battery I won't have to go into BIOS right? Given my current situation with the monitor it is kind of impossible to work in BIOS :) haha

I am almost positive I powered down, flipped the I/O power switch, and then unplugged before I started taking everything out. I took out my GPU first (since it was the easiest) and then realized I should take pictures of everything. Unofrunately, I can't confirm my connections are the same regarding the GPU but I don't see how it could be different - it is literally just a PCI-E cord and insert into the MOBO.

Probability wise, do you think it could be more of a problem with my GPU, my MOBO, or my PSU? I am looking into upgrading my GPU but I wanted to wait a few more months first.....might not be feasible. I just want to check cross compatibility if I need a new mobo/psu also. PC problems suck! Haha

Thanks for the link. I am going to try the RAM, then unplug/replug everything, then the reset the battery/CMOS. I will update if anything is successful or if nothing worked. Also, I don't even get to windows screen. I my monitor is on sleep mode and wakes up when I power up...then it says HDMI/VGA No signal and goes back to sleep.

Okay, good news and bad news. I reset the RAM and the monitor came on. Woohoo!! Bad news part, now I am struggling getting into windows. I get a BOOTMGR missing error so I switched the boot to my other storage device. Now I get it to do the windows loading and then the screen goes black.

Hmmmm

You can't switch boot to a non-Windows device if you don't have windows on it. Try doing a nice reboot with your original disk on boot priority and run normally. If you get the error, reboot and try again. Also write down your error and then just Google it if it doesn't fix itself

Thanks for you help Cioby! So I decided to begin cable managing and closing up the backside of my case, I powered up to try and resolve this windows/BIOS issue and everything seems to be back to normal (pre-new case setup). Hopefully this stays fixed.

BTW the case is really sharp looking and fairly quiet from what I can tell so far. Rosewill Cullinan (Red) is what I went with. Despite the issues, mainly user-error/GPU/MOBO related, I am glad I upgraded haha

Again, thanks a bunch for your help!
