Yes, both of those motherboards will work fine. Ryzen had some RAM compatibility issues when it was first launched, but a lot of that is getting better. Just look at the RAM support list on the motherboard you choose, and pick one from that list. Of those boards, I like the MSI Tomahawk, but the Gaming 3 from gigabyte is not a bad board either.
One thing to consider, is getting the 1600 and not the 1600x. There is little difference between the chips if you are planning on overclocking and the 1600 comes with a good stock cooler where the 1600x does not and cost more. If you are not going to overclock, the 1600x makes sense because of higher base clocks and XFR. But if you are overclocking, XFR is disabled and the 1600 will not have issue hitting the 1600x base clocks.
So if you are going to overclock, get the 1600 and use the money you save on a SSD or a better video card or even more games.
