I have an old HP Pavilion p6717c Desktop ( https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-p6700-desktop-pc-series/5035348/model/5053887/document/c02634832 ) It is currently running an AMD Athlon II x4 640 3.0 Ghz and 5 GB RAM. I have already upgraded the GPU to a GTX 750ti and the PSU to 600w. I will also upgrade the RAM to 16 GB, or 8 GB at the minimum. What I am wondering, is it worth it to upgrade the CPU? and if so to what? The MB only supports an AM3 socket and is limited to 95W max TDP. I am willing to get a used CPU from e-bay but don't want to sink much money into a system that is already so old. The PC is used at my office for mostly lite task and maybe some gaming at lunch ; ) Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

You're limited to 95W processors. If its for productivity tasks you might see a decent boost in performance if you put an X6 1065t in it (which is the top 95W Thuban six core). If you intend on keeping it in an office environment and your demands aren't too great it "might" be worth it if you can snag a used compatible processor cheap. I just looked at there are some X6 1055T 95W CPUs for $53 to $67.
