What headphones should I buy?

I’m thinking about buying some new headphones and would like some help. Closed back would be nice, microphone isn’t necessary. Around $100 would be a nice price.

Right now I have the Sennheiser PC 360 which are pretty good but the bass is a bit low and they have an open back design.

I’m mostly going to use the headphones for gaming, music and music producing. It would be nice if they were easy to travel with since I travel a lot

I’ve been thinking about the audio technica ath m40x’s because I’ve heard a lot of good things about them, they’re pretty portable and have an overall good sound.

Should I buy new ones or stick with my old ones?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I have tried the Jabra Vega before hand, but not the Move wireless ones. Can't say how they would compare, but if I should compare the Vega with the M40X's. I'd probably go for the M40X's IF you didn't have either. If you have the Move wireless and are happy with them, just stay with them for now. I can't say how you like your music, and since we all hear a lil' different I wouldn't say you should go with one over the other.

Heyo Sebastian S
As you've said yourself the M40X's is an excellent choice at that price point. However if were to buy them, I'd suggest you to put some Brainwavez HM5 pleatherpads on them. Personally I find the stock pads to feel like "soft rocks".
They're pretty neutral, but not to the point where they're boring. The new pads will improve the low end a tad.

However if you'd go for open-backs even after your first statement. The Philips SHP9500's is a great choice. Big, comfortable and light headphones with fine sound for the money. I'd compare them to Sennheiser's HD650's, but with some more treble. I didn't really enjoy the extra treble, but some people do.

Cheers

Thank you for the answer and sorry for the late reply!

About the hm5’s, have you tried them with the m40x’s yourself (or any other headphones)? I’ve heard from some people that they make the headphones sound bad, low bass etc. and from others that they’re great.

As you said the philips are open which I’m not as interested in but I’ve heard they’re pretty good as well.

First off all. I own the M40X's with the HM5 pads on myself. I'm using them for transit for work everyday. I couldn't stand to use the stock pads as they were. They sounded fine and how you'd expect. The HM5 pads gives the low-end a little boost. Nothing amazing, maybe 1db or something.
I've used the pads with my Beyerdynamic DT770's aswell. Not really any change in the sound on these IMO. The comfort became amazing though.
Used the SHP9500's myself as well. And they'e a solid choice for the money.

I do have the Jabra move wireless as well. They’re closed-back and very good in my opinion. They do leak a bit of sound and I guess the sound isolation is decent. If you’ve tried Jabra move would you say that they’re better?
