For the past week now, my internet speed(only on my desktop) will consistently drop. Every time I run it on a speed test website it just goes up and down. Normally I get about 3.50 MB(which is barley enough to play online) but now it goes down to 2 or 1 MB. I had a technician from my ISP but he couldn't figure out what was wrong either. The speeds run normal on everything else (cell phones and laptop). Any suggestions is much appreciated!

Solution
start with checking for malware with malware bytes and hitman pro. try booting up using msconfig. turn everything off but your anti virus see if your speeds go up. make sure you have the newest chipset driver for the ethenet and mb chipset. check the ethenet port speed. if your cable is old or not seated right it can cause the port speed to go down to it slowest speed. on the router make sure it has the newest firmware and try another port on the unit. see if a friend has a ethenrnet card you can use for testing.
