Finished building a new machine with:

RAM = G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) Desktop Memory Model F4-2400C15D-16GTZR

Mobo = ASUS ROG STRIX B250F GAMING LGA 1151 Intel B250 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Motherboards - Intel

After only the LEDS on the Mobo would come on and a conversation with Asus apparently this ram is incompatable? And would cause this issue.

They sent an approved list of RAM but I really have no idea which would be best. I want to keep it around 200$ and have at lease 16GB (pref 2 sticks of 8).

Can any one recommend a good quality RAM for this Motherboard\Confirm this would cause the board not to start any fans? As long it was DDR4 288 PIN wouldn't any RAM work?

Here is the PDF they sent if it helps: https://www.dropbox.com/s/dj5jpqiv8qgzbk9/Strix-B250F-Gaming_Memory_QVL.pdf?dl=0

Solution
The 8th generation of intel cpu does not work on any skylake/kabylake motherboard, you need a z370 board. Change the motherboard to a z370 or change the cpu to a kabylake (7th generation).
Which CPU are you using?

Which power supply? All connectors plugged in? ATX 4+4 pin or one 8 pin as well and not just one 4pin plug?

Which LEDs are on?
BOOT_DEVICE/VGA LED
CPU_LED
DRAM_LED
VGA_LED

Does the motherboard beep?

In which DIMM slots did you plug in the RAM? Use only one and try all slots

Nope, I get the LEDS under the board but nothing else. No fans, no power/lights on the water cooler.

Tried each ram stick with just one, no change. No change with no RAM in either.

Really seems like it's the board.

To helpstar. It's the 8700k. All brand new. Tried one slot, on A2 which is advises in the book with each stick. Nothing but the under board LEDs. There is one orange led on at the bottom that shows the board is getting power.

Either way, ordered the z370. Hopefully will be on track in a week. Thank you

It would be nice but it is ok anyway, intel is not so dependent of memory speed. There is only a small increment in performance.
