Hello guys,

I'm not a big fan of noise so I set a custom fan profile for my H100i V2 and was wondering if the 6700k can handle 70C-75C degrees (celsius) while gaming.

It's overclocked to 4.6Ghz from my motherboards auto tune feature.

In battlefield 1 while CPU is at 80% load most of the time, I get temperatures around 72C-76C.

So can this processor handle these temps with no performance issues?

Thanks.

Usually the golden rule is as long as you're below 83-85C, you're fine. In which case you are, so those temps are completely fine.

It may help prolong the life of the chip slightly if you set a custom fan curve for your CPU cooler and make the fans run a little faster under load if you don't care about noise. I'm a temp freak myself and I can drown out the noise, but that depends on the person.

I'm kind of a silence freak so I have my fan curve set to slowly ramp up and stay silent until it gets to 70C.
After that the curve goes steeply up to 100% at 85C.
Most of the time my PC never gets into that steep zone.

That's totally fine then, no reason to change anything if you're comfortable with that temp.
