Hey guys, I'm upgrading my GPU to a 1060 and it requires a 6 pin pcie power connector (Gigabyte GTX 1060 WINDFORCE OC 3gb).

So I have a Coolermaster CS450M power supply, problem is I don't have any cables cause it was bought off some guy so my mate gave me this cable https://i.imgur.com/87G2MHP.jpg but I'm not sure if its compatible with my power supply, with the red end going into this on the power supply https://imgur.com/hyKOuZ7.jpg (not sure what it does) and one of the blue ends to the GPU.

Would it work?

If you don't know exactly what type of cable it is, don't even try it. Those cable are specific to certain models and cannot be used with other model. So unless you know it is the cable from another CS450M or compatible model, you can't use it, for the risk of frying both PSU and GPU.
