I have just recently built my PC. I have 250GB SSD and a 2TB HDD installed, and finally overcame the issue of everything automatically saving things to my SSD. When I figured out how to make it change where things are saved by default, I also dragged most of the files from my SSD onto my HDD. Now, however, My hard drive is a mess. My downloads, pictures, music, and so on are all only labeled D:/ and cannot be renamed without it just renaming my drive and not affecting the section I am actually trying to relabel. Additionally, each of the previously named folders all contain the same things. I am trying to organize things so that under my documents file there are only documents, under my downloads will be my downloads, and so forth. As of right now it just seems to be a jumbled mess with no organization at all. When i save things, I cannot locate them without searching my entire computer, and am nervous that if I do not remember a specific file name then I may have a lot of trouble finding them in the future. for example I created a documents file within my harddrive, but it is not visible in my file explorer unless I search for it. As you can probably tell, I do not know much about this subject at all, so if you could break answers down to be idiot proof I would greatly appreciate it. I am operating on Windows 10, if you need any other information to help make things a little more clear just let me know. Thanks in advance!

My advice on this depends on whether or not your SSD has enough space to handle all of the files. If it does, I would suggest moving everything back over to it, erasing everything off the HDD, then creating folders or moving folders over to the HDD one at a time. It's quite time consuming and a royal pain in the backside, but, if it's organization you are looking for above all else, that would be what I would recommend.

Apparently it would seem you dragged those things to the root of D: hence the renaming issue. I would grab them all and move them to a new folder. You can make a New Folder on your desktop( taking austintx1985's comment about space) for ease of access. After they're moved you should then have no issues apart from organizing.

http://filehippo.com/download_everything/ is a good search tool. I like it better than Windows. You can click on Search up in the Menu and change what it searches for whether it's vids. docs. audio etc..

When I try to move everything back, I get an error message that says the folder cannot be moved there due to D:\ System volume information, How do I get everything to move back? I am currently going into properties and using the move function and selecting my SSD

Have you tried opening the folder and moving them from there, leaving the folder empty?

I have just moved everything off of my HDD and reformatted and cleared the entire thing. The only thing that remains is a games folder, but it is still in every folder (downloads, pictures, music, documents, my pc). I attempted to take a screen shot to attach, however whenever I take one, I cannot find it because of how awful the organization is. Files that I know exist are unable to be found, I'm not exactly sure how to explain this any better then I am due to lack of knowledge on my part.
