PC keeps turning on and off after reinstalling CPU liquid cooler

Hi, so for a long time I used my liquid CPU cooler with only 3 screws because I had inserted the wrong standoffs. So I purchased a new mounting kit and replaced the entire backplate and standoffs. This time I used all 4 screws (nothing went wrong with the installation). I tried to turn on the computer but it turns on and then turns off immediately (GPU and the cooler light up and all the fans run too). I had changed nothing else when I was installing so I don’t know what the problem is. I even replaced the thermal paste on the cpu and cooler just in case. I tried to turn it on again, but it does the same thing.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Specs:

i7 4790k no overclock

Corsair H100i GTX cooler

MSI GTX 980 Ti

MSI Z97 Gaming 5 motherboard

EVGA SuperNOVA 750 P2 (80+ platinum, fully modular)

Let me know if I need to show more specs.

Remove the cooler and processor and reinstall both.
You do have the standoffs in the right place?

Check the ram remove it and reinsert it you have not removed the CPU from its socket right?

I didn’t remove the cpu from the socket and I also reinstalled the ram but it does the same thing.

If when he removed the cooler the CPU shifted just a bit it could cause it.

remove the CPU cooler and its screws and all and your board too and make sure near cpu socket that you have not scratched it or something

Is the cpu fan header connected to something? might cause the system to shut down otherwise

The first time i installed it a few years ago, I used the wrong standoff on one of them so that as why I decided to reinstall with the new mounting kit. I was trying to remove the plastic backplate so that I can use the new one but since it was stuck I had to use pliers. I kind of scratched the back of the mobo but the color was white and didn’t look like anything metal like. Do I need to get a new mobo?

It's frustrating, I've been there. My feeling is that it's the motherboard. First check that all the cables from H100i cooler are connected to the fan headers. Sometimes it won't start that way. Next remove the motherboard from the case and just have the minimum installed. CPU and memory and just the integrated graphics to boot into the bios. If you've got a basic air cooler, use that. Keep it simple. If it still won't start I doubt its the CPU or memory, they're quite robust.

I went to micro center and they’re gonna run diagnostics. So I’m probably gonna get the of back in a week.
