Hey guys! I am a disabled veteran, and I have always wanted to build my own computer, I figure this is as good a time as any to dive in with Black Friday coming up, so I know prices could go down from estimated guesses, I will keep that in mind.
I am a photographer first and video editor second. (I am a gamer at heart though).
I get frustrated waiting on slow uploading of images in Lightroom or Photoshop, or transferring photos from SSD to HD for storage, I also need something that will take advantage of a strong internet connection (getting fiber optics) for upload speed for online storage.
List a solid purchase and maybe a “If the price drops, get this one!” idea.

Approximate Purchase Date: e.g.: Black Friday Sales

Budget Range: (e.g.: 600-1000) After Rebates; After Shipping

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Photo editing and manipulation (art), Video editing, Gaming, basics
Are you buying a monitor: I need a second monitor, thinking of pairing my Dell U2415.

Parts to Upgrade: I have a Dell xps 8500, I can pull some ram from it and an SSD but I want a larger one, I am going to use it as a second computer for the kids.

Do you need to buy OS: Yes

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: I like Newegg, but want to save money – show me what you got.

Location: City, State/Region, Country – Ellensburg, WA – USA (I drive to Seattle for VA appointments as I am a disabled veteran)

Parts Preferences: by brand or type – none really

Overclocking: Yes – but need instructions, this isn’t a necessity but I am interested in learning.

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe – not sure what it is for

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1200 – will add a second one so do not include it in price.

Additional Comments: I use Adobe CC products, as well as On1 and Vegas, I play WoW mostly, but looking into playing some other games, no first player shooters though, I am a disabled veteran, I did enough of that crap. I want Windows Pro cheap. Looks don’t matter it hides under a desk, but quiet would be nice. Would love to rip my BluRays…
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Graphics issues, slow editing for photos, issues with Adobe, and I am bored.

Very detailed demans, cool. My recommendation:

Solution
Vapours build is good you can also swap the cpu to an i5 8600k or i7 8700k instead of the ryzen if they get a good sale on black friday but most likely not.

Also as a good backup online for your needs I would recommend backblaze. It makes a complete copy off all your internal drives and backs them up online for only 60$ a year (infinite space and decent speeds) since you are doing work that you probably want to keep safe and you are getting fiber anyways so this can be quite handy for you.

Another source to price parts is Microcenter.com I often find they have the best prices, even over Newegg. Research the parts you want to use and then create a spreadsheet and compare prices from the various vendors.
