Hello

Today I've installed a new graphics card and a new CPU which are the following:
- MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti GAMING X (11 gig memory)
- Intel Core i7-4930K Extreme IV-E (3.4 GHz)

The components I used to have in my system are the following:
- Nvidia Geforce 780
- Intel Core i7-4820K Ivy Bridge-E (3.7 GHz)

After having installed/replaced said components I went down to 12 gig ram from 16 gig ram, I tried to run the RAM diagnostic tool but it didn't detect any faults/errors.

My current RAM stick setup looks like this, mind you I did not move the RAM sticks during removal or installation of said components listed above.

As of the newly installed components themselves they're working just fine, system detected the new CPU as well as the new graphics card, it's just that 4 gig ram that's missing.

PS: I'm using 4 x Kingston HyperX Beast DDR3-2400 4 GB RAM sticks.

Hopefully some of you can give me an idea or two to help me get back my 4 GB ram.

T.L.

Try re-seating the RAM. If that doesn't work, try re-installing the CPU. My guess is that you nudged something and got a poor contact somewhere. Worst case, it could be a broken trace or solder joint on the motherboard from handling the CPU/motherboard.

Check in the BIOS for Video Card Buffers and see if it's pulling the 4GB for your video card. There should be some setting in the Advanced section of the BIOS - depending on the Mobo.

I've tried to reset the CMOS but it still only picks up the 12 gig RAM, however I did see that RAM is detected in A1 slot, C1 slot and D1 slot but the B1 slot doesn't show any RAM installed.
However I've already tried to remove each of the RAM sticks (tried to check if a memory stick had stopped functioning) and then power my PC up with 3 RAM sticks instead of 4 installed and every time it goes down from 12 gig to 8 gig and I know for a fact that B1 works as I did remove the RAM stick inserted there and rebooted which then resulted in 4 less gig memory as well.

I'll have to try and find the manual for my motherboard and figure out how to see whenever the graphics card pull those 4 gigs of RAM or not.

LGA2011 CPUs don't have IGPs, which means no IGP memory reserve in BIOS.

I finally got my 4 gigs of RAM back, apparently I had tightened the screws on the CPU cooler 'too tight'.

Eased 'em screws a bit and voila! back to 16 gigs of RAM instead of 12.

Anyway, thanks for all the suggestions y'all gave me..!
