Hello i was hoping for any thoughts or suggestions for this computer i am thinking of ordering for my teen for christmas who is a big gamer fan. I did a little research and put this one together on ibuypower website hoping it won't explode lol .

Way overpowered for a 1080p setup, you don't need 2 gtx 1080's (or maybe the sli bridge, I'm confused, are you doing 2 1080's sli? If not then you don't need the sli bridge), you don't need the wifi adapter if the mobo has wifi enabled, and you could stick an SSD in that and it would bootup faster, games would run faster, than the hard drives

good question connerweatherly17 i was not sure if i needed the bridge i'm only using 1 GTX 1080 - 8GB - EVGA Superclocked (VR-Ready) i wasn't sure about the wifi adapter either the other builds i tried didn't give me the option i'm going to look into it and the ssd option its going to cost me a about 2,200 i def dont want to pay for stuff i don't need

i agree with Conner and Vapour, although like vapour has asked, the key thing is the cost. Ibuypower is a custom PC builder. Most of those companies charge a huge margin, normally about 30%, after all they have to make money too.

It is definitely a decent build, but you could get cheaper. I'd say your paying through the nose for it. Sometimes that's a limitation of where you live and what's available. But if you haven't bought it yet, consider getting the parts separate and putting it together yourself.

also you could reduce the outlay a little by swapping out the 1080. At 1080p 60hz, its massive overkill. A gtx 1060 6gb will reduce the cost by about 300 and still game very well at that resolution. a 1070 would give a little more room for a monitor upgrade and future proof (a little for a year or two). So you could really shave off a few hundred bucks if you didn't have to have the most awesome gaming machine. You could also use an I5 8600k which will perform as well as the 8700k in most games, maybe a few percentage points behind.

also the INwin C900 isn't a great PSU. Something like an EVGA G2/G3 750w (which is high quality) will be perfect. You don't need any more.

im not that handy at putting pcs together i did look at the individual prices and yes i am paying more but i did try a few years back to upgrade his pc myself and its not up to par, its kind of why i'm willing to let ibuypower do it for me now at a cost though lol, thank you everyone for your help i did a few adjustments to it so im not paying for things i don't need and learned a lot in the process i think when my middle son gets old enough i might try again now that i have more knowledge of what i need.thanks to everyone!
