Hello everyone,
A couple of days ago I've noticed crackling and "tearing" sounds coming from my speakers. I thought they were faulty but after a couple of tests I've concluded that the crackling sound is not due to the speakers, any playback device that I've connected to my motherboard audio jack (even my phone's headphones) were producing the same crackling sound. This makes me conclude that there is probably something wrong with the audio jack on the MB? My PC hasn't been hit, damaged, or anything similar so I don't know what could've caused this (my knowledge about hardware is amateur level).
Any ideas what could cause this and how do I fix this issue?
I've updated my Realtek driver from the official MSI website to the newest version.
Also, I've noticed that it is happening when I play certain songs on YouTube (probably with the same frequency). It doesn't happen so often when I play games or talk over Skype or other voice chat platform.
Everything that I've done so far:
-Updated the driver
-Replugged cables several times
-Restarted the PC after I've noticed it started occurring
-Cleaned the audio entrance with compressed air
-Checked for any physical damage on the MB or jack entrances, none found.
Thank you again for your reply, it is greatly appreciated!
Thank you very much
