DRAM stuck at 2133 MHz: MSI- X370 Gaming Plus and G Skill Ripjaws DDR4 3200

Solution

Are you running the latest bios? Looking at the board the last four updates helped with memory compatibility.

I tried updating the bios but it says that my version of the bios is not MSI compatible which is weird because I downloaded the file from the MSI website. My bios' current version is E7A33AMS.500. Is this the newest bios version?

is the latest bios. If you're unsure look for the bios date under the motherboard tab in CPU-Z. Place the .190 file on the root of your flashdrive go into the bios and update it with mflash.

Ahhh thanks I got it to update! I managed to push my DRAM frequency to 2800 from 2133 but now CPU-Z reads my CPU speed at 3200 MHz whereas my bios still reads 3700 MHz. I checked my processor power management and it correctly shows the maximum processor frequency to be 3800 MHz but I am only getting 3200 MHz. Is there any options in bios that I can change to correct this frequency?

Enable XMP in the bios and your RAM should run at 3200Mhz. Not sure why your cpu frequency lowered, what CPU do you have? Under AI tweaker you can set a cpu multiplier (sync all cores) x37 = 3.7ghz. Having it on auto should already run your CPU at it's highest frequency. Enable high performance mode under power options in windows and see if it runs at it's default base clock.

Thanks for all the help! I managed to change my CPU speed to 3.8. I'm still stuck at 2800 MHz but I'm pretty happy from the change from 2133-2800.
