Origonal Call of Duty requires admin log in

I dusted off my copy of the original Call of Duty and loaded it on my Win7 Computer. When I attempt to play I get an error code indicating that I have to log in as administrator. I am logging in as admin. Logging out and logging back in doesn't help. Any ideas?

Yes. When I click Run as administrator nothing the window disappears and nothing else happens.

Worth mentioning; same result when I start in safe mode,
I have given the game access through my firewall.
When opening multiplayer and choosing single player I get the same Run as admin queries.

It could be an issue with the file directory that installation files are installed to. Try reinstalling or moving the files out of the Program Files folder where they are normally installed and to My documents or your preferred place.

Reinstalled in downloads directory. No change.
Attempted to register the game. No luck. I registered it years ago after purchasing the game. It was worth a try.
I suppose our friends at Activision want money for the latest, greatest version.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
