Hi again, i have a question, it's possible to share a folder on windows 7 to windows 7 on public folder, but in a way i can set what port it will share the folder? it'll be very usefull for a firewall, someone know a way to do this? Thanks

Solution

There is no reason to manually choose a specific 'port'.

Share a folder on PC #1. If both are connected to the same router, PC #2 should see that shared folder.

I just want to share between 2 computers, 1 of them is connected to internet, i need to choose the port, because if i share a file between 2 computers, and if i'm able to choose the port, it will be very easy to use a firewall on iptables, and exclude all other ports. So it's possible to choose what port to share a file in windows to windows? thanks

I still can't get your setup, and why firewalls / iptable's play a role...
Are these two computers behind same router? File sharing between Windows computers has been easy for last 25 years or so...

And again - if you want to share a file across the 'Net, SMB is not the right way to do it.

internet ----- PC1 ------- router (offline with iptables) -------- PC2

So i share files on public folder, between PC1 and PC2, but i see on wireshark it uses specific ports, for SMB.
I just need to share files between PC1 and PC2 using a port that i must be able to set, for example i need to share folders using port 600,
so on wireshark i would see the packets using this port. I need firewalls to secure PC2 from sending unwanted data. It's possible to do that?
and How can i do it? Any help will be much apreciated
