So I’ve just received the HP OMEN 17 laptop with a gtx 1060 and realized it doesn’t come with thunderbolt 3, which is only available on the next model with gtx 1070 and is £200 more that I cannot afford. So I was wondering if it would be possible in future to connect an external gpu via the laptops m.2 nvme port using a x4 to x16 cable (the port is easily accessed by a removable panel underneath the laptop). Any help would be much appreciated thanks, and no I will not being buying a ‘better laptop’ or a desktop, I am a student that needs something mildly portable and hp offer a student discount.

Thanks :D
