Hi all,

I've bought the following components for my new system:
- intel i7 8700k
- Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 7
- ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Strix OC Gaming 11G
- Corsair Veageance LPX 3200MHz 16GB (2x8)
- Samsung NVMe SSD 960 EVO M.2

1. I can find a lot info about the Noctua NH-D15(S) in combination with the 8700k, but none with the NH-D14. Do you think that my NH-D14 will be sufficiënt for my system (I want to OC).

Would it worth it to be buy a Kraken X62 instead?

2. My PSU is a Be Quiet Powerzone 750W and it's 4 years old now. Should I replace it?

3. What kind and brand of termal should I use? Metal liquid or thermal paste? I still have a bit of Noctua NT-H1, would that be any good?

4. Any suggestions for an awesome PC case?

Thanks in advance!

The Ram is LP.

So I can push my CPU with that cooler without having concerns?

If you haven't got an NH-D14 already just buy NH-D15S, which will allow high profile RAM and offset away from first PCIe slot, while offering slightly better performance over the NH-D14 even with a single fan.

Thanks for your answer.

What kind of insulating shim did you use? Did you make it yourself from old spare parts for instance, or did you had to buy it? In case of the latter one, I'd probably prefer to invest in a newer and better cooler instead. Maybe the Kraken X62?

What thermal compount do you advice? Metal liquid? Or some paste from Gelid GC-Extreme or Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut?

It was no more than a small part of a paper 3 x 5 card.
Just enough to avoid metal to metal contact.

The nh-1 paste that comes with noctua is as good as any. There is not enough difference between mediocre and very good paste to be worried about it.

If you own the D14, go with it, it will cool just as well as any AIO cooler.
